In this JOSA Workshop, we will introduce unit testing with Jest, a JavaScript Testing Framework that works with projects using TypeScript, Node, React, Angular, Vue and more.

Jest is a JavaScript testing framework designed to ensure correctness of any JavaScript codebase. It allows you to write tests with an approachable, familiar and feature-rich API that gives you results quickly. Jest is cool as it is:

• Zero config: Jest aims to work out of the box, config free, on most JavaScript projects.
• Fast and safe: Jest can reliably run tests in parallel to maximize performance.
• Well documented, well maintained, well good.

 

In this workshop, you will get:

• An introduction on testing fundamentals.
• Hands-on practice on Jest testing and implementation.
• Even more Jest implementation.
• Discussion on certain techniques and technologies in unit testing.
• Ask and get answers on unit testing / Jest.
