The Jordan Open Source Association (JOSA) is a Jordanian non-profit dedicated to promoting open technologies and defending the rights of technology users, particularly in the areas of digital safety, privacy, and open knowledge.

As part of its ongoing efforts to combat digital violence and encouraging a collaborative efforts for a safer digital spaces in Jordan, JOSA has developed a TF GBV Service Providers Mapping to identify, document, and share knowledge about organizations in Jordan engaged in work related to TF GBV.

JOSA seeks a freelance Graphic Designer to design the TF GBV Service Providers Mapping, in Arabic and English.



Objective

The objective of this consultancy is to provide graphic design and layout services for the TF GBV Service Providers Mapping (Booklet/ Cards), ensuring that the final product is visually engaging and user-friendly.

General Info

The TF GBV Service Providers’ Mapping is an informational publication that compiles organizations—including CSOs, NGOs, and INGOs—actively engaged in addressing technology facilitated gender based violence (TF GBV). The mapping outlines each service provider’s geographical coverage, available helplines, physical location (where applicable), contact details, and the specific services they offer.

The document includes a brief methodology section and provides concise profiles for 27 service providers, totaling approximately 220–250 words.

The final mapping document will be shared with the designer once the agreement has been signed.



Scope of Work / Tasks & Responsibilities

The Graphic Designer will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Design and layout the TF GBV Service Providers’ Mapping in the form of informational cards, totaling 27 cards per language (English and Arabic).
  • Design one back-of-card layout, adapted into two versions: one in Arabic and one in English; with minor differences, as needed. E.g. the back design might differ based on the geographical coverage.
  • Design and layout a foldable cover page, presenting the mapping and the methodology section in both English and Arabic.
  • Ensure bilingual formatting, including full right-to-left (RTL) support for Arabic text.
  • Integrate illustrations, icons, and infographics as needed to visually represent key information (e.g., types of services, geographic coverage, methodology, etc.).
  • Incorporate logos of TF GBV service provider organizations, if required.
  • Prepare print-ready and web-friendly versions of the final document (PDF format, optimized for online and offline distribution).
  • Provide editable source files (e.g., InDesign, Illustrator, or equivalent formats).
  • Follow JOSA’s internal design guidelines and maintain visual consistency with previous TF GBV publications (reference materials to be provided by JOSA).


Additional:

  • Design a custom packaging box—similar to standard card deck packaging.


Deliverables

  • TF GBV Service Providers Mapping Design Draft (fold-able coverpage and at least 1 card design; front and back, in English and Arabic), for review.
  • Final Designed TF GBV Service Providers Mapping in:
    • High-resolution, print-ready PDF.
    • Optimized web version (lightweight PDF).
    • Editable source files.
    • Set of Informational Cards: 27 designed cards (Arabic and English), each card should present 1)Organization name and logo, 2) Location / area of coverage, 3) Helpline and contact info “website, phone number, etc.”, and 4) Services offered
    • Back-of-Card Design: 1 finalized back-of-card layout in Arabic and English; minor different might be presented in each card, as needed.
    • Fold-able coverpage that presents the TF GBV Service Providers’ Mapping, Methodology, Funders, etc.
    • Packaging box design for the card set (Optional/ if required)
  • Graphics Pack (icons, illustrations, infographics used in the toolkit, delivered separately in PNG/SVG).

  • Card Shape Rounded corners
  • Portrait


Timeline

  • Contract start: Immediately upon signing.
  • Draft design: November 17th, 2025.
  • Final deliverables: No later than November 24th 2025.


Required Qualifications

  • Proven experience in graphic design and publication layout (portfolio required).
  • Proficiency in Scribus, Inkscape, or other desktop publishing / vector graphics tools (e.g. Adobe InDesign and Adobe Illustrator).
  • Strong visual communication skills (icons, infographics, data visualization).
  • Familiarity with digital safety, open-source tools, or NGO publications is an advantage.
